ON OILSEEDS  ( SOYABEAN ) ANDPULSES ( BEANS )

Krishi Vigyan Kendra, North Sikkim in consultation with the ICAR, Tadong (Gangtok) opted for Soyabean (var.PK-1042) and Bean ( var.Singtamey) to undertake Front Line Demonstration on Oilseeds and Pulses, respectively during the kharif season of 2007-08.The said programme were carried out  at Tingzey village under Mangshila.
 
Farmers’ reaction on technology adopted under FLD
:     Very positive to follow the same package of practices provided the same crop varieties are provided to them. 2.Since the use of chemical fertilizers and inorganic pesticides are being discouraged by the concerned department, dissipation of technologies based on use of Bio-fertilizers and preparation methods of Farm compost along with IPM practices are being sought for.
